Small Groups

Several years ago there was a young lady who worked at the Cosmetics counter of a drug store. About once a week there was a customer who would invite her to come to her small group. Every week the young lady said no. Every week the customer asked. Finally, the young lady said, "OK, I will go... just once... so then you can stop asking.

Well, you know what happened next. She became part of the small group community and surrendered her life to Christ. Her husband was not pleased. He was a bar musician and he was convinced that her newfound relationship with Christ would kill their marriage.

But of course...you know what happened next... He kept watching the change in her life... and before long he surrendered his life to Christ. Before long he was involved in a local church plant... and began playing in a Christian Rock n roll band. He would eventually become a youth pastor... and then later he would plant a church.

Now, as Paul Harvey would say, here's the rest of the story. That young woman at the cosmetics counter was my wife Vicki... And now we are here... and Coast Community Church exists.... and lives have been changed, are being changed, and will be changed....

All because a lady in a small group invited a girl at the local drug store to come to her group.

Do you think small groups make a difference? I do!
