Sunday night wrap up

It was a great day at Coast... The worship was awesome... Gary and Beth and the team really did a great job... Then we took a look at how do we shut out some of the competing distractions in our life so that God can speak to me.... Its part of our series on finding God's will for our lives. CD's of the service flew out the door today.

Our crowd was down a little bit today but Vicki and I knew of at least 8 families that told us they were traveling this week... so with that in mind... pretty good crowd... there were new faces... and just an awesome sense of expectancy.

Tonight Vicki taught the ladies bible study... and I taught the teens.... after showing my dominance on our new beach sand volley ball court.... it was a blast! I spoke on John 13... Jesus washing the feet of the disciples... and we talked about serving. I almost think teens get this concept even better than adults. Anyway, it was a great night with the teens tonight as well.

Tomorrow is my day off... can anyone say Sleep?"

Also, please pray for my Step Mom... her name is Doris Pooley and she has suffered a stroke and is in the hospital in Orlando.

Thanks for all your prayers... and the encouraging emails...

Sunday

We are in a series right now called "What's God's Will?" And I am so excited about tomorrow.
Gary and Beth Hodges are leading worship tomorrow... and then I am going to be talking about the four
Common mistakes that most people... almost all of us make when trying to hear God's voice.

And I really believe that there are some people who have been confused or discouraged... and they are
going to find joy tomorrow... God's purpose for them is going to be very clear... I believe it is going to be
a Holy Spirit thing... So God, really open our eyes... speak to our hearts.

I can't wait!!

This is going to be amazing...

Destin

Well, for the firt time in a while the whole family is off together at one time... Its a teacher planning day which means, after spending the night with a friend, Leanna is with us. Soooo... we are going to head out to Destin and see if the new PF Changs is open...

Speaking of Leanna... what a great heart she has! She is 15, and is really aware of the people around her... especially those who are hurting... If she sees someone who is hurting she will talk to them, let them know someone cares... talk to them about Jesus... and if she needs to, she will bring them to someone else... usually me. I am so proud of her... Its exciting when you see God using your children in a special way.

And while I was typing this, Vicki called PF Changs and they are open! Hello Lettuce wraps and Mongolian Beef - Here we come!

Satisfying Sunday

Today was an an awesome day of ministry... we started with a brand new series on discovering God's will for your life... So many new faces everywhere.... and God is bringing some of the coolest new people to Coast. Its really very exciting! Now the trick is figuring out who everyone is...

Then we went out to lunch with some of our newest friends at Coast... Great fellowship... and it just pumped me up even more for what God is doing at CCC.

Then I taught the first of our Coast Connections classes, "Embrace." This is our membership class and its always so much fun. At the same time our "Elevate" class was happening too. In Elevate you learn about your gifts and how to use your gifts in serving others... Great class!

And then I spent a few hours with our teens... Very cool seeing what God is doing in that group. The teen ministry is really growing.

So I'm worn out after a 14 hour day... but very satisfied. Its great when you see ministry all around... when you see people stepping up to the plate and "doin' the stuff!"

So is 11:00 PM too late for an afternoon nap?

Rainy days and Thursdays

We had over 11 inches of rain today... so far... it hasn't quit yet.  If you are in the Gulf Breeze area and are not busy..... drop by.... we are building an Ark.

Cruising through the week

This week has been flying by...  God is so good.... here's a few thoughts

**Currently reading - Becoming a Leader by Myles Munroe...  And I am stuck in the middle chapters of John... Sometimes you get stuck as God keeps taking you back and showing you things... God is really ministering to me on the workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

**The devil has been busy... but God is busier still.  Sometimes as a Pastor its so easy to get angry about the way the devil attacks people... But in the process of the enemy attacks, the cool thing I am seeing is that people are pressing all the more into the Lord.  Its as if the enemy is trying to discourage people... but instead they are pressing into God and getting stronger and encouraged. Its been incredible to see what God is doing.  It reminds me of the verse that says when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will raise up a standard against it.

**Sunday was great at Coast...  We had a great picnic after church...  baptized several people... and dedicated our new beach sand volleyball court... It was a blast!

**As people were leaving on Sunday, we gave them bracelets that say "Tell the Story."  Each week I pray that God would give each person a divine opportunity to tell the story of what God is doing in their life.  Evangelism isn't about having all the answers... its simply saying, this is the miracle of what God has done in my life... He can do it in yours too!

**Sunday we start a brand new series called, "What's God's will?" It is going to be one of the most comprehensive series I have ever done on how to determine God's will for your life...  I am really looking forward to this.

**There are so many new people at Coast, we are having a hard time figuring out who everyone else.... so be looking for several connecting events that will give us the opportunity to start building some relationships.... 

**Very excited about all the new small groups starting... I will be hosting a group called iMarriage using a DVD by Andy Stanley... the material is great and I am betting it will lead to some great discussions.

Looking forward to Sunday

Sunday is really my favorite day of the week.... there is nothing better than gathering together with other believers... worshipping.... letting God speak to our hearts... and enjoying the blessing of fellowship...

Tomorrow at Coast is going to be amazing...  I will be dealing with breaking free from Addiction... whatever your addiction is...  Jesus came to set the captive free.  I really believe God is going to do something incredible in some lives tomorrow...

We also will be having a picnic after church with a baptism...and will also be dedicating our new volleyball court.  Its just going to be a tremendous day...

I do ask for one thing though... if you are reading this, would you stop for a second and pray for my step mother Doris Pooley... She is in the hospital in South Florida with some serious health complications...  Would you join me in praying that God would heal her?

I still believe in the power prayer...
