Have changed my format on comments... From now on, anyone commenting must leave their email address...
If someone wants to leave me a message telling me they disagree with me... that's fine... no big deal... but have the courtesy to leave an email address. Many bloggers have turned their comments off... And while I definitely understand why they have taken that step... I do love the dialogue that happens with commenters... so at this point, comments are on, email addresses are required and all comments will be viewed before posting...
This is a great Florida sunset. I love living here. Tonight we went to a luau to celebrate the birthday of one of our best friends... Donna Cobia... And it was a great time... with a Polynesian dancer, great food, and most importantly great friends...
The weather was perfect. Great breeze, low humidity, and I took this pic from my camera phone as the sun was going down... Trust me... it doesn't do the sunset justice.
The heavens declare the majesty of God... That is the absolute truth....
Thought I would give you a few rambles and rants for this week.
Cya Sunday,
Robert
Coming in the fall of 2007. I really want to see this... but our IMAX never has anything cool like this.
Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwWFDFQxn7Q
Then call the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola and ask them to get us some U2 at the IMAX.
T. D. Jakes always blows me away... check out this piece of wisdom...
"Let Them Go"
By T. D. Jakes
There are people who can walk away from you.
And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you, let them walk.
I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you,
coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean, hang up the phone.
When people can walk away from you, let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody who left.
The Bible said that they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for
us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]
People leave you because they are not joined to you.
And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.
Let them go.
It doesn't mean that they are a bad person; it just means that their part in the story is over.
And you've got to know when peoples' part in your story is over
so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead. You've got to know when it's dead.
You've got to know when it's over. Let me tell you something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift. I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it.
Stop begging people to stay.
Let them go!
Ed Young Jr from Fellowship Church has started a Video blog. If you’ve ever wanted to know what pastors struggle with, here you go. This is great because you don’t normally see something this candid from a pastor of such a large church. Thanks to Ed for this raw look at the life of a pastor... and thanks to Gary, and Tony for the heads up on this one.
This is why I will never get a tattoo...
Thanks to los for this picture... I mean, you got to look at this and go... "Now how long does a tattoo last?"
"Oh no!"
One of those busy days all day... then around 5:30 PM, my daughter, Leanna, and I went and I went out to the beach and got a bite to eat and then went and listened to an hour of the band "Tin Feet" who were playing at the bands on the beach out at the pavilion on the gulf. What's interesting about that, is that the lead guitarist was one of best friends all through high school and a guy I played the bars with before I became a Christian.
It was wild watching him play... I remembered so many nights of playing the clubs with him. Lot of memories...
Then we left the beach, went to Starbuck's and headed home... and as I walked in the door, one of the Celebrate Recovery leader's called and said there had been an accident at the church... We have a couple of big screen 52 inch tvs that we use for monitors for our media shout... One was accidentally knocked over, wrecking the TV and also landing on one of the keyboards. Ouch. The poor guy was sick.... It really could've happened to anyone.
One thing about it... its never dull around here.
